Ph.D. Candidate in History of Art

Overview

Peggy’s research focuses primarily on material culture of tea in East Asia, with particular interests in the modern development of tea cultures. Currently, she is investigating the development of tea culture in Taiwan with an emphasis on rituals, objects, and identity-making. 

She holds a Master’s degree in the History of Art and Archaeology from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, where her studies focused on Shinto shrine remnants in Taiwan. She has presented her work at the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) and the Myers Graduate Symposium at Northwestern University. She has worked at various museums and libraries, including Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Asia Society in New York City, Stephen Chan Library at the Institute of Fine Arts, Chimei Museum in Tainan, the National Central Library in Taipei, Archive of Modern Chinese Art in Taipei, and Croker Art Museum in Sacramento.
