Professor Cheryl Finley was interviewed recently on France24's "Perspective" segment for her leadership in the pivotal conference"Black Portraitures: Imagining the Black Body in the West." The conference, now in its 10th year, brings together artists, art historians, writers, and other academics with the intent to delve deeply into and discuss the global positioning of Africa and the African diaspora, and their depictions in Western art over time. Professor Finley, associate professor in Cornell's Department of Art, who is also the inaugural director of The Atlanta University Center of Art History and Curatorial Studies, will be participating at this year's conference at the Musée Quai Branley in Paris.
