PhD candidate Lauren van Haaften-Schick discusses her co-edited book

Seth Siegelaub (1941–2013) was the first dealer and exhibition organizer in New York to focus on conceptual art. “Better Read Than Dead” was the title that he had chosen for an anthology of his own writings—one of the projects for which he never found the time. This book brings together his personal notes, public interviews, and precious few published writings into one volume, offering unprecedented insight into the many facets of his inquisitive life. Seth Siegelaub: "Better Read Than Dead" Writings and Interviews 1964–2013 is edited by Marja Bloem, Lauren van Haaften-Schick, Sara Martinetti, and Jo Melvin, and published by König Books with the Stichting Egress Foundation.

To listen to the discussion at Paula Cooper Gallery / 192 Books from January 26, 2021.

A video of an event at Printed Matter on January 15, 2021 is available online here.
