Hui Yuan, BA '24, Accepted into Harvard Law

Hui Yuan, a History of Art BA alumna from the Class of 2024, was recently accepted into Harvard Law School.

At Cornell, Yuan double majored in Comparative Literature and Art History, with a particular interest in European/medieval studies. During her senior year, she wrote an honors thesis on Byzantine mosaics under the guidance of Prof. Benjamin Anderson, which was awarded the distinction of summa cum laude. Yuan was also recognized by the Department of History of Art with the Frances Sampson Fine Arts Prize, an award traditionally given to the member or members of the senior class who consistently demonstrated academic excellence, commitment, and achievement, particularly in the field of history of art.

After graduation, she joined a full-service law firm as a legal assistant. Her team focuses on data protection and tech law, primarily serving American companies conducting business in China as well as Chinese companies going abroad. Her favorite word is Fernweh, which means the longing for distant countries, unknown cultures, and new adventures in German. While she has not yet decided which area of law to pursue, she hopes her legal career will bring her to work with people from different sectors and different countries.

Congratulations, Hui!
