Textiles accompany us in our daily rituals. Rugs, hangings, tablecloths, and other fabrics layer the surfaces where we eat, play, pray, and perform other ceremonies, quotidian but powerful. The exploration of textile design and its importance in daily life reside at the heart of BI YUU, an atelier for textile experimentation and a space for social innovation based in Mexico City. Founded in 2012 by designer Marisol Centeno, the BI YUU community consists of a design team in Mexico City that collaborates with weaving communities in Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca, and Bhadohi, India, two cities with centuries-old textile traditions.

The interdisciplinary dialogue between craft, design, and industry has allowed BI YUU to innovate in creative processes, develop production methodologies with environmental and social responsibility, and embrace Mexico's multiculturalism. Likewise, the exploration of color, a symbol of the country's diversity, has been essential for BI YUU, who has experimented with both the materiality of color and its ability to arouse emotions. This exhibition celebrates the ten years of the atelier through a journey through its most iconic materials, processes, and collections, gradually revealing the stories hidden in each piece.
